Bad day for tired-out Rays only gets worse

Oh, what a travel day for the Tampa Bay Rays. Who could blame this club for being downright beat? First, a cross-country flight from Florida, then an alternate route to the ballpark that pushed two hours because of a Bay Area bridge closure. David Price spent $202 on a regrettable cab ride, then was dealt his first defeat in seven weeks in a 4-3 loss to the Oakland Athletics on...

David Price had a miserable time getting to the Coliseum on Friday

So, the Bay Bridge closure the weekend has proven to be a thorn in the side of Bay Area residents in at least some way. You don’t have to tell Rays pitcher David Price about it. For some stupid reason, the Rays decided to stay in San Francisco during their series against the A’s this weekend, despite the Bay Bridge (y’know the one major thoroughfare they’d take to get to...

Athletics edge Rays 2-1 on Crisp's home and RBI single

The A's saved most of the fireworks for after their game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday night when fans were treated to a pyrotechnics show. Such is the luxury when rookie right-hander Sonny Gray is on his game mixing up his pitches hitting his spots and generally having his way with hitters. Hence the only offense the A's needed came on a Coco Crisp RBI single...
