If you were looking for the catch of the night in Major League Baseball, check out Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon scaling the left field wall to rob a hit from Ian Kinsler.

At first, it looks like Gordon would have to leap against the wall to make the play but he ends up catching the ball on the way down:

Q&A: Wil Myers, The Future in Kansas City

When Baseball America named Wil Myers their Minor League Player of the Year yesterday, it came as little surprise. The 21-year-old Kansas City Royals outfield prospect hit .313/.387/.600, with 37 home runs, between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha. He came into the season rated as one of the top players in the KC system, and ended it as one of the most promising hitters...

Royals bring up RHP Jeffress from minors

The Kansas City Royals have recalled right-hander Jeremy Jeffress from Double-A Northwest Arkansas. The 24-year-old Jeffress made eight relief appearances over two previous stints this season with the Royals, yielding two unearned runs and eight hits in 6 2-3 innings. Kansas City hosted Texas on Tuesday night. Jeffress is one of four players acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers...

Lat ailment keeps Royals' Dyson on bench

Jarrod Dyson has not started since Aug. 29, and it appears iffy he will start again this season. The Kansas City Royals outfielder has a strained right lat that restricts him from throwing. He can still be used as a pinch runner or pinch hitter. "Hopefully before the end of the season, I'll be back to throwing," Dyson said Thursday before the Royals lost 5-4 to...

Royals' Myers sweeps minor league player of year awards

Wil Myers won the national daily double Tuesday. Myers was selected the minor league player of the year by both Baseball America and USA Today. That does not mean, however, that the outfielder/third baseman will be called up later this month by the Kansas City Royals. Myers, 21, began the season hitting .343 with 13 home runs and 30 RBI in 35 games with Class AA Northwest Arkansas...

The Royals won’t make the playoffs, but three of their Minor League affiliates have

It’s easy for Kansas City Royals fans to become cynical when the team is playing yet another meaningless September and likely another losing season. But this year, three of the Royals Minor League affiliates are in the playoffs: the short season Rookie Burlington (NC) Royals, the High A Wilmington (DE) Blue Rocks and the AAA Omaha (NE) Storm Chasers. The Burlington Royals won...

Royals nipped by Rangers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Adrian Beltre hit a three-run homer, Michael Young also went deep and the Texas Rangers held on for a 7-6 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night. Ryan Dempster (5-1) gave up RBI doubles to Billy Butler in the first inning and Salvador Perez in the sixth, but was otherwise stingy for the AL West-leading Rangers. He only allowed two other hits...
