Please put Jeff Montgomery and Ryan Lebfevre in the television broadcast booth full time. While everyone knows the hub bub about Rex Hudler and his analogies for three year olds who do not know baseball, the broadcast on Friday June 8th in Pittsburgh was the best television broadcast that I have sat through this season. It was informative and Montgomery and Lebfevre worked very well together. I know that Ryan and Jeff have worked together on and off the last couple of seasons, but the nightly broadcast of Rex and Ryan just does not work. It seems as if Rex is too afraid to say something negative about the Royals, as he is afraid he may be fired. As many of you may or may not know, Hudler has a two year contract, and the likely hood of the Royals releasing him for his contract at the end of the season is very slim. It looks like as Royals fans, we will most likely be stuck with #P90Rex for another season.  All I ask of Royals Management and Fox Sports KC, is that they strongly conside...

KC catcher's poor sense of humor

During a throwback game against the Pirates, Royals catcher Humberto Quintero decided to remind us about the bad things of yesteryear when he pulled off a very un-funny stunt.

Free Wil Myers? Not So Fast…

Even though Wil Myers is currently tearing the cover off the ball in the minor leagues, the need to make the move to bring him up currently is not there. While Myers stats show he is very capable of handling the pitching at the Triple A level with his triple slash at .321/.369/.718 with 8 home runs and 22 RBI's. The big issue, and this is a good thing, is that Jeff Francouer...

Adios Humberto Quintero?

With Salvador Perez finally starting his rehab for Omaha on friday night, it's time to take a look into who will be dropped when he is recalled from the disabled list. I do not foresee the Royals carring 3 catchers so Brayan Pena or Humberto Quintero will end up being designated for assignment. As of late, watching Quintero play behind the plate reminds me a lot of watching...

Humberto Quintero goofs on teammate Bruce Chen by doing the “Slanty Eyes” routine behind his back

What’s a little friendly racism between battery mates? Prior to his start against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Royals starting pitcher Bruce Chen was subjected to one of those tedious and time-wasting in-game interviews.  His catcher, Humberto Quintero, took this moment as an opportune time to goof on his Kansas City teammate’s Chinese descent by doing the old “Slanty Eyes”...

Humberto Quintero makes slanted eyes gesture behind Bruce Chen (Picture)

When Royals catcher Humberto Quintero came up behind Bruce Chen while Chen was being interviewed in the middle of Saturday’s game against the Pirates, he only intended to give him a hard time. It’s probably safe to assume there was no racist intent behind the slanted eyes gensture that Quintero made, but professional athletes have to be smarter than that. It happened during...

Mike Moustakas misses first base, misses out on double (Video)

Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas missed the bag when rounding first base on a hit that was mishandled by Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen during Saturday night's game at PNC Park. Instead of what should have been extra bases, Moustakas had to settle for a single. It happened in the top of the fifth inning when Moustakas had a base hit...

Kansas City offense experiences June swoon

When the calendar flipped to June, the Kansas City Royals' offense flipped the off switch. The Royals have received solid pitching in their first nine games of the month, posting a 3.35 ERA and tossing three shutouts, but they are only 3-6 because the offense is struggling. Kansas City is hitting .241 for the month -- only Pittsburgh and Baltimore have lower batting averages...

Why yes, that is Royals catcher Humberto Quintero giving teammate Chen the 'Slanty Eyes' treatment

That's Kansas City Royals catcher Humberto Quintero giving teammate Bruce Chen the 'Slanty Eyes' treatment. And just in time to inspire some Spanish speaking Olympians. What great timing Every... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

Nothing But A Little Racism Among Teammates

Oh boy. Kansas City Royals Catcher Humberto Quintero decided to mock pitcher Bruce Chen asian heritage behind his back…on television.  Quintero is lucky he plays in Kansas City, a place that most people don’t give a **** about, so this will probably go mostly unnoticed. The last time I saw this move on television was at Wrestlemania 2 when Don Muraco was arguing with Mr. Fuji.

Premiere of One-on-One with Ryan Lefebvre

Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer is profiled in the seasonpremiere of One-on-One with Ryan Lefebvre, a 30-minute interview show onFOX Sports Kansas City. Paulino hits disabled list again

Kansas City right-hander Felipe Paulino is on the disabled list for the second time this season and the fifth time since 2008. Paulino, who began the season on the disabled list with a right forearm strain, returned Saturday to the disabled list with a strained right groin. He was activated April 30 and went 3-1 with a 1.67 ERA in seven starts. Paulino, however, left in the first...

GIFcap: Mitch Maier goes head over heels for the out, Ryan Braun robs … something

Almost killed himself going after this foul ball. Probably a double, but could have been a homer. Quality play, regardless

Royals All-Time Draft Team

The Kansas City Royals are on a pretty good run with their first round draft picks, dating back to 2002 and the selection of Zack Greinke. Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Alex Gordon, Luke Hochevar and Aaron Crow are all former first rounders who make up the core of the team’s rebuilding effort. A study of first round selections by other big league teams reveals that no one has a...

Royal Flush

After last night’s game, I got this tweet and thought it raised a very valid point: Today was the complete opposite, but the end result was the same. The Pirates knocked off the Royals again, completing a sweep and moving within a half-game of the Reds (who play tonight vs. Detroit). Andrew McCutchen was the only offense this afternoon. He doubled home a run in the first inning...
