Found March 25, 2013 on Hall of Very Good:
During his early years with the Atlanta Braves, Andruw Jones' path to immortality seemed to be paved with gold.  Since then...it's barely been pyrite. And I'm not even talking about his dismal stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Most recently, after spending time with four teams over five years...dude agreed to a one-year $3.5 million contract with the Japan Pacific League's Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.  Less than three weeks later, on Christmas morning no less, the ten-time Gold Glove winner was popped for domestic battery after allegedly choking his wife, dragging her through the garage and threatening to kill her.  Not surprisingly, Jones' wife has since filed for divorce. Which brings us to this.  According to the Thirty Mile Zone, the 35-year-old slugger, fresh off his stint in the World Baseball Classic is battling his soon-to-be-ex-wife again.  This time for custody of their son. In the divorce docs, Nicole -- who was married to Jones for 10 years -- asked for primary physical custody of their 9-year-old son AND to have the prenup voided.  Now, Andruw has fired back in his own docs ... claiming HE should get primary physical custody, and not only that ... he shouldn't have to pony up a dime in child support.  A judge has yet to rule. Now, while not nearly as important as who gets custody of young Druw is this...the five-time All-Star's massive crib outside Altanta is still on the block.  You know, if you've got five million burning a hole in your pocket. And in case you were wondering what five million can get you, don't worry...the listing has it all laid out for you in glorious CAPS and exclamation points! The ULTIMATE in LUXURY! BIGGEST, BEST and most BEAUTIFUL home in Sugarloaf Country Club. Elegantly appointed and has EVERYTHING you could want: indoor basketball court, elevator, sparkling pool/spa, million dollar views, putting green, indoor resistence pool, sauna, steam shower, indoor hot tub, double waterfall feature, batting cage, outdoor kitchen, two indoor kitchens, 3 laundry rooms, 3 master suites on main, and so much more! For the buyer who wants the BEST of everything. All joking aside, does anyone want to pool together some money?  The house, granted, I have to think it's dripping with bad karma does look pretty sick.  But who knows...maybe Jones squirreled away some of that $36 million he stole from the Dodgers under the basketball court.

Yankees Universe you need to read this about Wang

English: Wang in bullpen 2 (Photo credit: Wikipedia) It doesn’t take much to impress the New York Yankees these days, as Chien-Ming Wang just proved inking a one-year minor league deal with the team. It took Wang all of 12 scoreless innings in the WBC for the Yankees to abolish his past. Wang has been injured and ineffective for years, as his last decent outing in the majors was...

The horror, Mr. Cash, the horror: Jeter is no longer answering questions, Mariano is having migraines, Andy’s getting whacked, and the Yankee boat drifts ever deeper into the heart of darkness .

Derek Jeter is no longer answering reporters’ intrusive questions regarding his foot. (Generally, those questions must go along these lines: “How are you?” “How do you feel?” “What’s up?”) He’s tired of telling reporters his foot doesn’t hurt. The somebiches don’t listen. The Yankees say Jeter might miss opening day, but he hasn’t ruled it out. The team expects...

Has Brian Cashman lost his mind?

I haven't squawked much lately because I don't really want to be a Swanny one-note, writing nothing but gloom and doom about the state of the Yankees. Especially when it comes to the madness of Brian Cashman. He is a terrible general manager, but our lousy front office seems to be fine with no matter what he does. And the media gives Cashman a pass, too -- more than they...

Lady's Choice 2013, Part 1: The New York Yankees

It's that time of year again. Prediction time! We will start this year's version off by focusing solely on the New York Yankees. For the first time in a long time the Yankees are not the favorite to win the American League East. Their new fiscally conservative attitude along with their age and mounting injuries make it hard for many people to believe they will be one of...

Yankees release David Adams

Photo Credit: nj.com In order to make room for Vernon Wells on the 40-man roster, the Yankees have released infielder David Adams, according to WFAN’s Sweeny Murti. Adams, 25, was originally drafted by the Tigers in 2005 but didn’t sign. In 2008, the Yankees took him in the third round. Last year, Adams hit .306 with eight homers and 48 RBIs in 86 games. Overall in his five years...

Yankees complete trade for Vernon Wells

On his first day with the New York Yankees, Vernon Wells recalled a game in the International League more than a decade ago and he saw Darryl Strawberry in uniform for the opposition. ''I remember the first time I played the Triple-A Yankees, when I was 20 years old,'' he said Tuesday. ''It was the first that I actually got goosebumps playing against another...

Wang Feels Great Being Back in Bronx

From LoHud:“It was an easy decision for me (to sign back with the Yankees) because I never wanted to leave,” Wang said. “… It’s like back in the day. This was my first team, this is where I started. I feel great.” Wang said there were “four or five” teams interested in him, all looking into minor league deals..... Although he knows he’s heading to Triple-A...

Yankees panic and acquire Vernon Wells

I’ve already speculated that, when Brian Cashman broke his ankle skydiving March 4, that maybe he also unknowingly hit his head, because some of his moves and intentions this spring have been, well, questionable, if not downright nuts.   After the Yankees general manager acquired Angels outfielder Vernon Wells on Monday, I’m almost sure Cashman must’ve hit his head.   The...

Report: Yankees in Talks to Trade for Angels Vernon Wells

Desperate times calls for desperate measures, and make no mistakes about it, this is a move of desperation by the New York Yankees. Earlier, we reported that Yankees shortstop and captain Derek Jeter, will almost certainly miss the beginning of the season because he has yet to fully recover from a broken ankle he suffered in the postseason late last year. The Bronx Bombers are...

Red Sox release Lyle Overbay

One Red Sox roster battle has reached a resolution, as the club released first baseman Lyle Overbay from his minor league contract today. After signing with the club on February 1st, Overbay spent spring training competing with recent acquisition Mike Carp and converted outfielder Daniel Nava for the backup job at first base, but ultimately fell short due to the restrictions of his...
