TEAMS: Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees
NEW YORKThe Los Angeles Angels have reshuffled their bullpen once again, cutting right-hander Rich Thompson and promoting lefty Brad Mills from Triple-A Salt Lake.
The moves came before Saturday's game against the New York Yankees. The Angels had lost five of six.
Thompson was a valuable member of the Angels' bullpen last year, going 1-3 with a 3.00 ERA in 41 games. He struggled in two appearances this season, going 0-1 with a 15.43 ERA.
The Angels have 10 days to trade, release or outright Thompson to the minors. On Friday, the Angels called up righty reliever David Carpenter from Triple-A.
Angels manager Mike Scioscia said reliever Scott Downs was probably not available Saturday while recovering from a bruised right ankle.

Game Recap 4/14/12 -- That's More Like It -- Angels 7 Yankees 1
Now, wasn't that better? All the Angels needed was a bit of quality pitching, an explosion of power and suddenly all is right with the universe. My hunch is that the Angel players got together and said, "enough is enough. Let's get our act together" and, VOILA!!, it happened. The question is it just a fluke or the beginning of a legitimate winning streak...Angels...
