Los Angeles Angels shortstop Erick Aybar is eligible to return from the disabled list today, but he's not ready, according to Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register. Fletcher adds that Aybar could be activated from the DL early next week after participating in a few extended spring training contests. #Angels SS Erick Aybar will not be ready when he's eligible to come off the DL Thurs. Maybe early next wk after some ext spring gms — Jeff Fletcher (@JeffFletcherOCR) April 23, 2013 Aybar was placed on the DL with a heel contusion earlier this month. He suffered the injury while legging out an infield single. He was initially considered day-to-day by Los Angeles, but the team ultimately placed him on the DL. Prior to hitting the shelf, Aybar had hit .321/.333/.393 over 31 plate appearances. Fellow left-side infielder Alberto Callaspo is also on the DL, and the duo has been replaced by Brendan Harris and Luis Jimenez. Follow @mlbinjurynews Looking for fantasy baseball advice?
