PLAYERS: CJ Wilson
TEAMS: Los Angeles Angels
As pitchers and catchers continued to ratchet up their workout program in preparation for the rest of the team joining them, injury news has begun to trickle out of the camps.  Here are your injury updates for the Los Angeles Angels. Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times says that C.J. Wilson has no limitations on him for spring training.  Wilson had surgery back in October to remove bone spurs.  When the procedure took place, there was little concern about Wilson pitching in spring.  Now, with spring training around the corner, the Angels are happy to see that Wilson is having no issues.  DiGiovanna also provided an update on Michael Kohn.  Kohn underwent Tommy John surgery in April of last year.  He is getting closer to being ready and hopes to earn a spot in the Angeles' bullpen.   Earlier we also provided an update on Ryan Madson.  He has suffered an undisclosed setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery.  The Angels have had the unfortunate distinction of having the most injury news come out of their camp on the first day of pitchers and catchers reporting. TEMPE, Ariz. -- An MRI test has showed mild inflammation but no significant damage to Ryan Madson's surgically repaired elbow, a huge relief for the Angels reliever. This is my nightmare: Los Angeles Angels

It's led by CJ Wilson and Jered Weaver, but...

Addressing complaints about the Angels farm system

I hear a lot of gripes about the Angels minor league system lately.  Some of them are founded and others completely unfounded, so I thought I’d take the time to address some of these individually. 1. The Angels minor league system is empty.  The cupboard is bare.   Pretty general, but yeah I get it, not a ton of Top 100 prospects to be excited about.  However, consider...

2013 burning question: Los Angeles Angels

Continuing from our season preview of the Angels earlier today... Is the Angels' rebuilt rotation good enough for them to return to the playoffs? Last year, the Angels thought they could bury the American League in an avalanche of starting pitching talent. It was a great plan on paper except for the part where they forgot about the possiblity of injuries because...

2013 Player Projection: Scott Downs

For a year and a half, Scott Downs was a savior for the Angels bullpen, but he became part of the problem in the final months of last season. Is the veteran southpaw finally starting to break down? Is he just being infected by the rest of the Bullpen of Perpetual Sorrow? Is there any saving him? 2012 Stats: 45.1 IP, 1-1, 9 SV, 3.15 ERA. 3.66 FIP, 43 H, 17 BB, 3 HR, 32 SO, 2.81...

X-Factor: Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels head into 2013 as a nearly unanimous favorite to capture the AL West this season, if not take home the pennant in the American League. Aside from the main guys (Hamilton, Pujols, Trout, etc.), there are a couple of folks who could...

There’s something about being a kid, meeting a real player, and getting his autograph that is part of the national culture.
