Los Angeles Angels right-hander Joel Pineiro has been bumped from the rotation and into the bullpen after a series of poor starts.
The move was made Thursday, a day after Pineiro was tagged for seven runs over 4 1/3 innings against Minnesota. It has not been announced who will take his spot in the roation.
Pineiro, 32, is 5-6 with a 5.31 ERA in 18 starts and has surrendered 22 earned runs over his last 13 1/3 innings. He is in the final season of his two-year deal.
