MLB Injury News:
Los Angeles Angels right fielder Josh Hamilton was scratched
from last night’s contest due to back spasms, according to William Boor and Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com.
Hamilton began experiencing the discomfort during batting
practice prior to the Angels’ game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Manager
Mike Scioscia was initially hoping Hamilton would be available off the bench,
but that wasn’t the case. The skipper told reporters after the game that
Hamilton will be evaluated today when his status will be further determined.
"No further word," Scioscia said after the Angels'
3-0 loss. "I don't think his condition has changed much. He wasn't
available tonight. We'll evaluate him and see how he feels tomorrow."
To replace Hamilton in the lineup, the Angels moved Mark Trumbo to right field and started J.B. Shuck in left. Hamilton’s slow start
continues to drag on, as the 32-year-old has only hit .222/.283/.399 with seven
doubles, two triples and eight home runs over 219 plate appearances.

In a game featuring a team with a $140 million payroll facing a team with a $216 million payroll, it would only figure that the deciding run would come off the bat of a player making the minimum that was scooped up off of waivers a few weeks ago.
No, it wasn't Mike Trout, Albert Pujols or Josh Hamilton coming through in the clutch. Hell, it wasn't even J.B. Shuck. The...
