According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, RHP Matt Capps has re-signed with the Minnesota Twins for one year with an option.
The Mets checked in on Capps three weeks ago during the GM Meetings, but his agent Paul Kinzer said that the Mets never contacted him again after that.
Capps, 28, will replace Joe Nathan in the closer’s role. Last season he went 4-7 with 15 saves and a 4.25 ERA in 69 games.
These late inning relievers are selling like hotcakes.
