The Arizona Fall League wrapped up their sixth week of action.  Here is how the Pirates prospects have done so far:

-Robbie Grossman: .375/.472/.625, 7 HR, 104 at-bats

Grossman played in one game this week before going down with a broken hamate bone.  He will undergo surgery to repair the injury, which will sideline him for the remainder of the AFL season.

-Jarek Cunningham: .235/.293/.420, 3 HR, 81 at-bats

Cunningham played in three games this week, going 2-for-11 with a walk and an RBI.  His numbers haven’t been good, but one positive with Cunningham has been his low strikeout rate.  So far, Cunningham has struck out 13 times in 81 at-bats.  That’s a 16% ratio, which is down from his 26.5% ratio in high-A during the 2011 season.  He has just one strikeout in 21 at-bats over his last six games.

-Brock Holt: .261/.414/.261, 0 HR, 23 at-bats

Holt played twice this week, combining to go 3-for-7 with a walk and an RBI.  He also stole his third base of the AFL season.  Holt has played seven games in the AFL this year, and has reached base safely in each game, getting a hit in five of seven games.

Cole struck out four in three innings in his start this week.

-Gerrit Cole: 15.0 IP, 10 H, 6 R, 5 ER 4 BB, 16 K, 1 HR

Cole got back on track on Saturday, throwing three innings and allowing one run on a walk and two hits, with four strikeouts.  For details of his start, check out the AFL Recap from Saturday.

-Michael Colla: 14.0 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 7 ER, 10 BB, 9 K, 2 HR

Colla only made one appearance this week, pitching a perfect inning on Thursday to get his second save of the AFL season.

-Nathan Baker: 13.1 IP, 23 H, 15 R, 15 ER, 11 BB, 14 K, 1 HR

Baker had another rough outing this week, giving up five runs in two innings on Thursday, with the bulk of the damage coming on a grand slam in his second inning of work.  He has now given up eight earned runs in three innings over his last two outings.

-Jeff Inman: 6.1 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 HR

Inman pitched twice this week.  On Tuesday he pitched a perfect inning of work.  He returned to the mound on Friday, giving up a run on two hits.  The game was televised, and Inman’s fastball looked good, hitting 94-95 and displaying good movement.
