The only real remaining question mark regarding the Diamondbacks roster for the upcoming season was who was going to get the team’s final spot in the rotation and according to FoxSportsArizona.com beat writer Jack Magruder, that question mark has been answered. On Magruder’s twitter account, he announced earlier today that Armando Galarraga has grabbed the fifth starter’s role. This comes just a day after Aaron Heilman, who was fighting for the rotation spot with Galarraga, struggled in his start against the Reds. Heilman went only two innings allowing six earned runs with two walks and a strikeout. Of course, Galarraga hasn’t been much better this spring. Galarraga actually has a slightly higher spring ERA than Heilman, but the former Tigers right-hander has walked one less batter and has allowed less hits. With their stats being so close, Galarraga’s experience as a starter more than likely gave him the edge here. Heilman hasn’t started a game ...
