Lalli-Freakin-Da! Filling Milwaukee’s Last Bench Spot

Could THIS be the guy who never plays until Corey Hart comes back in May? Note: This post was being written when it was announced that the Brewers were signing Kyle Lohse. The transaction is in stark contrast to much of the intro, but I'll be goddamned if I'm going to re-write it. Just pretend this was written Friday or something. Cool? *** Every mid-February when pitchers...

Brewers place Green, Rogers on 15-day DL

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed infielder Taylor Green and right-handed pitcher Mark Rogers on the 15-day disabled list with injuries suffered in spring training. Green has a left hip labral injury, and his stint on the disabled list will be retroactive to March 22. That makes him eligible to be activated April 6. Fighting for one of the final spots on Milwaukee's bench, Green...

Lohse didn't break Brewers' bank

The signing of free-agent right-hander Kyle Lohse gives the Milwaukee Brewers five players who will earn a combined $61.5 million in 2014, according to Cot's Baseball Contracts. Owner Mark Attanasio, however, said Tuesday that the team's rising payroll will not prevent the Brewers from trying to re-sign first baseman Corey Hart, a potential free agent, or pursuing other...

Adam Rosales placed on DL; roster taking form

A’s infielder Adam Roales, one of the team’s standouts during spring training thus far, was placed on the disable list with a sprained left intercostal (some rib muscle). With Rosales beginning the season on the DL, it easier to see what shape the opening day roster is beginning to take, particularly in the middle infield, which has been the big mystery all camp. According to...
