From time to time, when I receive a particularly interesting question, I'd like to be able to post it and my answer here to give you a better idea of how and why we do things, as well as the issues we encounter every day in trying to cover the various teams around town.
Thought we'd start with this from a fan, who wonders why the Rangers weren't called out for hiring Clint Hurdle two days after denying that an offer had been made:
Evan, can you tell us why Rangers management can tell us a lie and not get called out on it by the media? All of what was said earlier this week by them about the decision not being made to hire Hurdle was lies. I am not blaming you in particular. It is the whole metroplex media. Do they just not care enough to voice displeasure at being lied to?
I remember last year when the Pacman story broke about his evening at the Joule Hotel how the media dogged Wade Phillips and Jerry Jones for days because they felt they were lied to? I think that...
