In their first season in the American League West after moving over from the National League, the Astros took sole possession of the division after a season-opening 8-2 win over the Texas Rangers.
No one picked the Astros to finish higher than last in the AL West this year, and with good reason. They are by far the most inexperienced team in the major leagues, and they are in perhaps the most loaded division in the majors.
So savor first place Astros fans.
