The arbitration deadline has come and gone, and to the dismay of many Baltimore Orioles fans, the O’s non-tendered 1B Mark Reynolds and he is now an unrestricted free agent. Both are now free agents Fans held onto hope until the clock finally struck midnight, that Baltimore and Reynolds would be able to get something done, but the Orioles had no intention of doing so. According to Reynolds, the O’s never negotiated or presented him with any type of offer and executive VP/GM Dan Duquette didn’t contact Reynolds until late last night to inform him the Orioles were non-tendering him. Although Mark said the right things in that he would not rule out a return to Baltimore, there is no way he comes back now without even being contacted before the arbitration deadline to attempt to work something out.
