Those who believe the St. Louis Cardinals need to make a trade to give the club a second-half push see pitching as the primary need. A reader poll earlier this week labeled the team’s top priority requirement as left-handed relief (approximately 45% of the vote), a starting pitcher (30%), then right-handed bullpen help (15%). This is the companion part to that first post. After all, in a trade, one has to give to get. Assuming the club will give up one or more prospects to acquire a proven major league pitcher, what player would you be most willing to move if you were the Cardinals general manager? Who would you keep off-limits? Please share your thoughts in the comments selection below. Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll. • Absolute keepers are Adams, Craig, Cruz, Descalso, Furcal, Jay, Molina, Shumaker and maybe Matt Carpenter and Robinson. Beltran is part time because he's too prone to injury. Holliday has improved defensively but he's still scary when a linedrive is hit at him. I would trade Chris Carpenter, Greene, Garcia, Rzepcinksky, Salas anc Cox and Tavares.
  • Have to partially disagree, Schumaker is a waste( he can hit singles occasionally but can't field 2B and has limited range in OF), Robinson is weak. C.Carpenter is injured nobody would accept him,and Tavares is real deal.
  • Does the change in pitching coaches have any thing to do with the crappy pitching?
  • Could be . But it was crappy most of the time last year too.

A Tony Larussa With Cute Animals Photo Collection
