Carlos Beltran's two out grand slam was an amazing moment in the second half of a season that's beginning to have many magical moments. The Mets offense was stymied all night and in the last inning were down to their last strike, not once but twice when Beltran cleared the bases. While it's still early it's beginning to feel like this team is gaining confidence and momentum...I know when Beltran was signed to the huge contract the expectations were for him to carry a team and for many he's been a disappointment, but I find that ridiculous. Beltran is a gold glove center fielder and quietly puts up solid numbers for his position, he'll bat .275, drive in 100 runs and hit 25-30 HRs. He's the total package in center field and I believe the best center fielder in the league...In his post game interview Beltran said all the right things, that he was just trying to get a hit to tie the score but got a ball he could drive.
