There’s nothing that man can’t do. He hit a two-run home run in the 1st and then made a spectacular play in the next frame. But we’re used to that kind of night from him. They’re pretty much the standard. He left the game late with shoulder soreness, and Ron Washington they were awaiting MRI results during the post-game interview. I hope it’s nothing serious. We need him down the stretch.
We’ll need Josh Hamilton too. He also hit a home run tonight and then left the game late. Washington said his knee was bothering him a little, but it’s nothing serious.
Still, I don’t like that pattern.
The pitchers really deserve a lot of credit in tonight’s win. Ryan Dempster won his fifth straight start with a seven-inning effort in which he gave up two runs on seven hits and one walk. He fanned eight.
Koji Uehara and Joe Nathan finished the game without allowing a single baserunner. Even with a strange defensive alignment behind them (Ian Ki
