The bidding war for the Los Angeles Dodgers is reportedly down to three, according to the Los Angeles Times, and a winner will be announced next week.Groups, lead by billionaires Steven Cohen and Patrick Soon-Shiong, NBA Hall of Famer Ervin “Magic” Johnson and Stan Kasten, and by St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke, are the final three candidates to claim the popular franchise.Major League owners will vote on the three groups before current owner Frank McCourt can begin negotiations. The winning bid is expected to eclipse the $1.1 billion offered for the Miami Dolphins NFL franchise in 2009 –setting a sales record for a North American sports franchise.McCourt has agreed to complete the auction process by April 1. He was forced to sell the Dodgers after suffering crippling financial troubles. McCourt bought the franchise for $430 million from NewsCorp in 2004.
