A new rule in the Collective Bargaining Agreement allows the Phillies to carry 26th man BJ Rosenberg with them today. Photo AP
B.J. Rosenberg gets his second crack with the Phils today as he becomes the beneficiary of an adjustment within the new Collective Bargaining Agreement. Per the CBA, teams can now carry a 26th player on days where there are split-admission, day-night doubleheaders at least two days after the game was originally scheduled to be played. Rosenberg allowed 2 runs each in both appearances he had, putting his ERA at 21.60 in 1 2/3 IP, exceeding his equally monstrous 16.20 K/9 IP. Rosenberg has a 1.52 ERA and 11.42 K/9 IP for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

With Cole Hamels and Cliff Lee on the mound for Sunday’s doubleheader the Phillies had to take at least one game. Unfortunately, the Phillies shaky bullpen and struggling Cliff Lee continue to haunt the team as they dropped both games to the Tampa Bay Rays.
This time last June Cliff Lee was finishing up three straight starts of complete game shutouts. He...
Chase Utley is getting closer and closer to being back with the Phillies.
The Phillies' second baseman, who has been working on a rehab stint with Class-A Clearwater for the past couple of weeks, is coming to Lehigh Valley to continue his rehab. Utley will play second base for the IronPigs on Tuesday night.
In nine games with Class-A Clearwater, Utley went 5-for-32 (.156) with...
Pitching deep into almost every game, Cole Hamels of the Philadelphia Phillies is among the best. How does Miami compare after their ace has worked? The Apocalyptic Horsemen Stats are in my daily coverage.

With his walk-off home run Saturday against Tampa Bay, Jim Thome tied Sammy Sosa on the all-time home run list at 609. One more, and Thome will stand alone with the seventh-greatest amount of career home runs hit in baseball history. The men who will be in front of him read like a Who's Who of the greatest hitters to ever play the game -- Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez, Willie...
With one swing by Jim Thome, the Philadelphia Phillies leapfrogged out of the cellar into sole possession of 4th place. Can they continue the climb up the standings?

In their 1st visit back to Philadelphia since losing the 2008 World Series, the Tampa Bay Rays once again brought the rain with them. Friday night’s Phillies – Rays game was rained out and will be played as part of a doubleheader on Sunday. The originally scheduled 1:35pm game will start instead at 1:05pm and the make-up game will begin at 6:35pm.

Chase Utley news! He is in Philadelphia today and will hang with the team until tomorrow, when he plays with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He’ll then return to the Phillies, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. No word yet if...
After dropping both games of a day-night double-header yesterday, the Phillies were looking to shake off the rust and start off a four-game series with the Pirates on the right foot. Joe Blanton was looking for his seventh win on the season tonight, and would do so against Jeff Karstens.
Runs would be surprisingly easy to come by tonight for the Phillies. They can thank the Pirates...

The make-or-break homestand that was to determine where this team stood as June came to a close has not been pretty so far. After winning two of three from the Rockies, the Phillies took the momentum from a magical walk-off off the bat of Jim Thome and crushed by...
