FF Locker Room:
The Atlanta Braves B.J. Upton had to leave Monday’s game due to a contusion of his left shoulder. The outfielder is day-to-day and the injury for now doesn’t appear to be too serious. Expect him back within a few days.

PHOENIX -- Kirk Gibson and Justin Upton used to run into each other before every Diamondbacks game. Literally run into each other. Bolo each other was what Gibson called it. Those who said the two did not get along did not see that.
Their meeting was less physical Monday, when Upton returned to Chase Field for the first time since the January seven-player trade that remade both...
The Atlanta Braves have activated infielder Paul Janish from the 15-day disabled list and have decided to option him to their Triple-A Gwinnett minor league affiliate. In other moves the Braves have released outfielder Jordan Parraz and pitcher Dusty Hughes while pitcher Kameron Loe has elected for free agency after clearing waivers, having been designated for assignment a few days...
So far, the recovery of Atlanta Braves starting pitcher
Brandon Beachy has gone smoothly. That continued yesterday, as Beachy threw 29
pitches during an extended spring training contest, his first game since
undergoing Tommy John surgery 11 months ago.
Beachy threw 29 pitches during the contest, according to
David O’Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The right...
Veteran Braves pitcher Tim Hudson has earned nearly 100 million in his 15-season career, but a significant portion of those earnings were recently sent back to Auburn -- the place he called home in college.
Hudson and his wife, Kim, who still make their home near the Auburn campus, donated 1 million to the Tigers' baseball program to upgrade the team's clubhouse. The generous...
The Braves have had a difficult early season schedule
After starting out 12-1, the Braves are now only 22-18 on the season, and have won only 10 of their last 27 games. When you look closer at the numbers it is a mixed bag.
The Braves are 11-3 on the season against teams that are sub .500, and only 11-15 against teams with winning records. So they are the bully who is beating...
Justin Uptons return Monday overshadows just about everything else going on between the Braves and the Diamondbacks as they prepare for a three-game series that opens Monday, the teams' only set at Chase Field this year.
Both teams are playing well as they are newly structured -- the Braves (21-16) are in first place in the NL East and the D-backs (21-17) are in second in the...
The Braves dropped the final series of their longest road trip of the season, falling 5-3 to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday afternoon. Here are three observations from the game:
1. Tim Hudson's mid-inning crisis continues
If one were to fall asleep within the first hour of practically any Hudson start this season, that person would likely assume the veteran is well on his way...
It's a safe bet that the last person the struggling Diamondbacks' offense wants to see right now is Tim Hudson, who has dominated the club throughout his career. Although aside from the series opener, the Braves have had a tough time scoring runs recently as well.
Hudson looks to remain unbeaten against the D-backs as the visiting Braves hope to avoid a fifth defeat in...
Justin Upton had a huge night in his return to Arizona with the Atlanta Braves.
Making his first trip to Chase Field as a visiting player, Upton homered and had four hits in Atlanta's 10-1 victory over the Diamondbacks on Monday night.
Before the first pitch, he said his goal was to treat it like any other game. Turned out, it wasn't.
This three-game series against Arizona...
Justin Upton felt a little strange entering the visitors' clubhouse at Chase Field.
That didn't dampen his excitement about returning to the place where he spent the first six seasons of his big league career.
Upton returned to Arizona with Atlanta on Monday night for the first time since the Diamondbacks traded him to the Braves.
A two-time All-Star, Upton was one of...
Justin Upton snapped a 14-game homerless drought and had four hits to help the Atlanta Braves rout the Diamondbacks 10-1 on Monday night in his return to Arizona.
Upton, the first overall pick by Arizona in the 2005 amateur draft, was playing his first game at Chase Field since the offseason trade that sent him and third baseman Chris Johnson to Atlanta in a seven-player deal.

Chicago Cubs web gem extraordinaire Reed Johnson robs royalty in the likes of Prince Fielder of a grand slam by scaling the right field wall. To top it off Fielder gives Johnson a tip of the helmet acknowledging the gold glove play. One of many spectacular snags in the career of Reed Johnson. This one never gets old.

PHOENIX (AP) -- Paul Goldschmidt hit three doubles, Eric Chavez drove in three runs and the Diamondbacks beat Tim Hudson and the Braves 5-3 on Wednesday.
Cody Ross added an RBI double as the Diamondbacks won the final two games of the series after a 10-1 loss in the opener.
Hudson (4-3) had been 7-0 in nine career starts against the D-backs but got tagged. He allowed five runs...
I am now in second to last place. Cue the choir of angels! “Beat with a Dan Uggla Stick” has a reason to play the fantasy music in their fantasy locker room a little bit louder this week.
Maybe I’m not the Houston Astros of the Fantasy Baseball world. I’m probably more of the New York Mets.
Pitching has been my weakness. Strasburg has lost the plate. Vogelsong has been a...
