Us Blue Jays fans will finally get to see another member of the bullpen trio that Alex Anthopoulous signed this offseason, as the team has officially activated veteran righthander Octavio Dotel from the DL earlier today. As some of you may remember, Dotel was bothered in spring training by a sore hamstring, and was placed on the DL to start the season retroactive to March 22.
The eldest member of the bullpen at 37 years-old, Dotel has deemed himself ready to contribute to the big club after throwing a couple of innings in a minor league workout. What role he’ll play in the bullpen is yet to be determined, although with his skill set, it looks like he will mostly be a specialist against big right-handed bats. Here’s a short primer to what you need to know about the 12 year veteran:
