Toronto Blue Jays fan Mike Lanzillotta made headlines with his random act of kindness on Tuesday night during the Blue Jays’ game against the New York Yankees.

After obtaining a home run ball hit by Aaron Judge, Lanzillotta saw a young Yankees fan, 9-year-old Derek Rodriguez, and gave the ball to the young fan.

Rodriguez was overwhelmed with gratitude and began crying tears of joy as he gave his new friend a hug.

Prior to the Blue Jays series finale against the Yankees, the team presented Lanzillotta with his own signed George Springer jersey thanks to his act of selflessness.

Kindness Is Always Rewarded

In the end, both Lanzillotta and Rodriguez were rewarded.

Rodriguez got a baseball and had the chance to meet his favorite player, and Lanzillotta received his own little gift from the Blue Jays as a result of his kindness.

This was a cool moment.

Acts of kindness are always rewarded.

Lanzillotta certainly earned his reward by giving Rodriguez the home run ball.

The fact that he was there when Rodriguez got to meet Judge and Rodriguez was present when he got his jersey makes this story even better.

Friendships aplenty are forged in the game of baseball, and these two fans will remember each other for the rest of their lives.

Just one moment of kindness began what should be a lifelong friendship between these two.

They both bonded over one moment and received some special gifts in the end.

Lanzillotta should be praised for being so kind to Rodriguez and ultimately starting a chain reaction of special moments.
