The Toronto Blue Jays placed righthander Jon Rauch on the 15-day disabled list with appendicitis on Tuesday.
The American League East team also designated veteran southpaw Trever Miller for assignment and purchased the contracts of lefthanders Wil Ledezma and Rommie Lewis from Triple-A Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League.
Rauch recorded a 5-4 mark with 11 saves and a 4.47 ERA in 51 appearances this season. The 32-year-old had an appendectomy performed earlier on Tuesday.
Miller was acquired in a multi-player deal with the St. Louis Cardinals on July 27. The 38-year-old posted an 0-1 mark with a 4.91 ERA in six games with the Blue Jays.
