Some people treat home run balls as priceless mementos that are worth fighting for. But seriously, dude in below video, this is Little League! It's not a Miguel Cabrera or Albert Pujols' home run. You have to be embarrassed, right? This fan, attending a game at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., and wearing an actual game jersey for one of the -- reminder, Little League -- teams, put in a little bit too much hustle when a homer was lofted to center in the sixth inning of a 10-2 game. He barged through the crowd, overran several rows of plastic chairs and fought off all comers to scoop up a ball that fell right over the outfield bushes. When he popped up with his souvenir, there was some blood on his nose, which the camera cut back to several times after the all-out effort. However, the clip has a decent ending. While the sight of a grown man throwing himself around at a Little League World Series game is somewhat disturbing, consider that he gave the b...

Tiger’s manager Jim Leyland  told the Associated Press via the Miami Herald that Cabrera’s first swing in the 9th inning against Glen Perkins is the one that did him in. Albert Pujols Shelved By Angels

Albert Pujols has been often shut down by opposing pitchers in the American League since he signed a mega-free agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels.  Now the Angels have decided to shut Albert Pujols down themselves, for the rest of the 2013 season. Pujols was told he had a tear of the plantar fascia in his left foot in July and would have to wear a boot until mid to late...

Angels shut down Albert Pujols for rest of season

Source: Brian Bahr/Getty Images North America The Los Angeles Angels have shut down first baseman Albert Pujols for the rest of the 2013 season. Pujols, 33, has not appeared in a game since July 26. Twins try to jump-start offense against Tigers

Miguel Cabrera got the Detroit back on track by adding to his power surge. He'll try to keep that going while helping the Tigers continue their recent success against the Minnesota Twins. Rick Porcello will also seek to lead Detroit to its eighth win in 11 games versus Minnesota on Tuesday night while extending his personal win streak to six. Detroit had suffered back-to-back...

Albert Pujols Done For The Year

Injured Los Angeles Angels star Albert Pujols hasn't played since July 26 and Monday...he decided it would be best to sit out the rest of the season. "It's not an easy decision, as competitive as I am," the three-time MVP said, "but I also understand that we (need) to look beyond the season." "The doctors think it's the best course of...

Albert Pujols out for the rest of the season

The Los Angeles Angels are learning the hard way why you do not sign a player that has been in the league for a more than a decade to a 10-year, $240 million contract. Skills deteriorate and eventually the body breaks down and injuries happen, leaving you with a real expensive cheerleader. First baseman Albert Pujols has been on the DL since July 27 with a partial tear

Albert Pujols to miss remainder of the season due to foot injury

Tweet Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim high-priced slugger Albert Pujols will miss the rest of the 2013 season due to a left foot surgery, the team announced Monday. Pujols, 33, had been out of the Angels lineup since July 26. The injury had limited Pujols all season before the Angels finally decided to shut him down […]

Ailing Cabrera out of Tigers lineup

Third baseman Miguel Cabrera is out of the starting lineup for Detroit's game against the Cleveland Indians. Cabrera has been bothered by a strained left abdominal wall for more than a month. The reigning AL MVP made an early exit from each of the Tigers' last two games. Cabrera leads the majors with a .359 average and 130 RBIs, and his 43 home runs put him four behind...

Twins' Glen Perkins up to the task against Miguel Cabrera

It would appear Glen Perkins has yet to check out despite the Minnesota Twins' ailing season. The way he finished off the best hitter in professional baseball Tuesday, such a course of action remains highly unlikely. Two days after Tigers triple crown repeat candidate Miguel Cabrera beat fellow American League Central Division foe Kansas City with a walk-off homerun, Perkins...

Twins hope to tame Justin Verlander, Tigers

While Miguel Cabrera won't let a few nagging injuries slow him down, Justin Verlander should be more than ready to continue his recent dominance of the Minnesota Twins. As Cabrera deals with his ailing body, Verlander looks to avoid a third straight winless outing Thursday against the visiting Twins. Plagued by groin, abdominal and hip issues, Cabrera still delivered a three...

Game 2013.125: Twins at Tigers

Detroit Tigers: 73-51, 1st Place (6.5 ahead of Cleveland). Best record in the AL. Taking 3-of-5 from Kansas City was nice (sorry, Cleveland, but KC seems the the bigger threat right now), but after being swept in both games of the double-header–and held to 1 run and 6 hits–it was very nice indeed. All the better that the two series ending wins were driven off the bat of Miguel...

Time To Admit It...Miguel Cabrera Is ELITE

INVISIBLE MONSTER THICKBURGER!!! I don’t know if any of you assholes are paying attention to the Yankees right now (quietly getting back into the wild card race!), but every little news nugget coming out of New York recently is major LULZ. The FACT that Alex Rodriguez is still playing, playing well to boot, getting thrown at constantly, having his lawyers publicly run smack about...

Finding bright spots amid Angels' struggles

ANAHEIM, Calif. Silver linings are tough to find these days. The Angels keep looking for them, but all they see are mounting losses. They don't have Mike Trout, who sat for a third consecutive game because of a right hamstring injury. They don't have Albert Pujols, whose foot injury has knocked him out for the rest of the season. Second baseman Howie Kendrick still isn...
