PLAYERS: CC Sabathia
TEAMS: New York Yankees

New York Yankees southpaw CC Sabathia is having arguably the worst season of his career. He is on pace to set career highs in both ERA (4.78) and H/9 (9.9) and has already set a career high by allowing 24 home runs. And there is still eight weeks to go in the regular season, too!Boston Glove columnist Nick Cafardo sought the advice of a talent evaluator and concluded that Sabathia's woes in 2013 may be linked to his weight loss. Some players just perform better carrying more weight. Sabathia seems to be one of them. Some think such a theory is silly, that Sabathia is merely showing wear and tear after being a workhorse for so many years. But doesn’t it make some sense?“The weight loss has created a balance problem for him,“ said one talent evaluator. “He’s all over the place. He’s learning how to pitch in that body, a body he’s really never had. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with him other than that. Sometimes you pitch at a certain weight all your life and then someone has the brilliant idea that you should lose weight because it’s putting stress on your knees, you do it, and then you’re dealing with something else.”Well, that is interesting. The 33-year-old has played majority of his career weighing nearly 300 pounds. However, this year he has trimmed down his figure to more like 275 pounds.Via Boston Globe

Is Alex Rodriguez The MLB Scapegoat?

The Biogenesis suspensions were finally handed out by Major League Baseball and as suspected New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez took the brunt of the Bud Selig wrath. 211 Games: Too Harsh Or Not Enough?

Is Alex Rodriguez's 211 game suspension too harsh?  That's the $1 million question right now.  MLB noted the following in its announcement of the suspension:"Rodriguez's discipline under the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program is based on his use and possession of numerous forms of prohibited performance-enhancing substances, including Testosterone and...

A-Rod singles, but Yanks blown out

Alex Rodriguez blooped a single into left field in his first at-bat of the season, hours after being hit with a long suspension. It was a nice start for the embattled slugger, but that was it. The finish belonged to the Chicago White Sox. Rodriguez went 1 for 4 in his first game for New York, but the White Sox beat the struggling Yankees 8-1 on Monday night to snap a 10-game losing...

Alex Rodriguez Live Blog: Major League Baseball to Suspend A-Rod Through 2014 Season

2:39 p.m.: If Rodriguez were to take the field in Chicago on Monday, it would be highly embarrassing for Bud Selig. The commissioner has already considered handing Rodriguez a lifetime ban, and for Rodriguez to show up on a major league field a week later would be another black eye for the game. AA Top 10: A-Rod Covers

NY media has never wanted for coverage when it comes to Alex Rodriguez. Since the MLB hammer fell yesterday and suspended his royal highness for 211 games, we decided to do a...
