 (Jared Wickerham/Getty Images) BOSTON—According to a tweet from Maureen Mullen, the Boston Red Sox beat writer for CSNNE.com, the Boston Red Sox will bring up righty Pedro Beato today, while southpaw Matt Thornton will be put on the disabled list. Mullen tweeted the following earlier this afternoon.   #RedSox will bring up RHP Pedro Beato today. LHP Matt Thornton to DL. #RedSoxTalk Beato has tallied a 1-1 record in nine appearances for the Local Nine this season, walking one while striking out four and notching a 3.29 ERA in the process.  His last appearance for the club came on Friday against theArizona Diamondbacks. In that affair, he allowed two hits and one earned run while striking out a batter in 1.1 innings of work. Thornton, who has been dealing with oblique soreness since Sunday has posted a 0-4 record with 27 strikeouts and 12 walks in correlation with a 3.47 ERA in 36.1 innings pitched, which spans 50 contests.
