Found September 18, 2012 on Bloody Sox:
By SBRForum.com The Red Sox are in an interesting position on the MLB picks. Though out of playoff contention, and with all the Bobby V turmoil, they are in a unique position with just 15 games to go. The Sox could play the roll of playoff spoiler for three teams. Boston plays the Rays six times in the last 15 games, and they also have three games against the Yankees, and six against the Orioles. Can the Red Sox play the ultimate division killer, or will they serve as a stepping-stone to the playoffs for their rivals? While the series will miss an epic showdown of David Price versus Clay Buckholz by one day, of the Red Sox can take three of four, it will almost end the Rays’ playoff hopes, as they sit 4 games back for the final wildcard slot going into this series. The Red Sox will pitch Aaron Cook in Game 1, and even though his record and ERA looms over every Red Sox fans head, he has yet to face Tampa Bay this season, so it could be a little advantage to Cook. In Game 2, Felix Do...

On Monday night, though, Cook and the Sox flipped the script on the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays dropped another division game, falling a little further out of the playoff race, and the Sox were...

Rays go for back-to-back win against Boston

Jacoby Ellsbury, Aaron Cook Combine to Break Up Alex Cobb's No-Hitter With Time-Honored Moves (Video)

If a pitcher is going to throw a no-hitter, he's going to need a couple of things to go his way. Alex Cobb was doing his best to get one on Monday, but Jacoby Ellsbury's two-run home run in the sixth inning quickly put an end to that idea and ensured that Cobb didn't catch the breaks he needed. As NESN Nation's Dan Duquette points out, however, Red Sox starter Aaron...
