According to Jayson Stark of ESPN, relief pitcher Brad Lidge has informed his agents that he intends to retire. Last season, Lidge signed a one-year deal with the Nationals. He spent time on the DL before coming off and posting a 9.64 era in 11 appearances while giving up 10 runs and walking 11. Lidge was released towards the end of June and spent the summer home with his family, which he ultimately enjoyed so much that he has decided to hang up the cleats for the final time. In his 11 season career, Lidge spent time with the Astros, Phillies and Nationals. he accumulated a 26-32 record with a 3.54 ERA and 225 saves.
