Brandon Inge is a member of the Detroit Tigers. Yes, still. He is a member of the Tigers because he wants to be a member of the Tigers. He is proud to call Detroit his home, and nothing will ever change his mind. Not even after being demoted following his offensive struggles this season.
But most importantly, Inge is a member of the Tigers due to his positive attitude.
Inge was having a horrible season, batting just .177 prior to his demotion to Triple A Toledo the end of last month. He had homered just once in 2011 and went hitless in his previous 24 at bats before being sent down. But attitude and heart separates Inge from many other big league players.
You see, not once did he complain. Inge never called out his manager or teammates or front office. He never sulked about the demotion. He never asked for a trade. He simply took the demotion for what it was.
A chance to straighten things out in the minors in order to help the Tigers win in September and get back to playoffs.
