Brandon Webb is scheduled to have rotator cuff surgery again, a huge setback for the 2006 NL Cy Young Award winner. The Texas Rangers say that Dr. Keith Meister will perform the surgery Aug. 1. The Rangers' team doctor also operated on Webb in August 2009. Webb was scratched from a July 1 rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock because of shoulder discomfort. Texas gave Webb a $3 million, one-year contract last winter with hopes he might be able to join the rotation by midseason. The 32-year-old Webb last pitched in the majors in the 2009 season opener for Arizona. He had pitched more than 200 innings in five consecutive seasons for the Diamondbacks before then.
