At just 22 years of age, Julio Teheran could be establishing himself as one of the best young pitchers in baseball. Looking to build on another impressive performance, Teheran tries to help the Atlanta Braves avoid a seventh consecutive road loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night. Six days after losing at San Diego by yielding a season worst-tying five runs in six innings of a 7-6 defeat, Teheran (5-3, 3.36 ERA) bounced back Sunday in a 3-0 win over San Francisco. The right-hander struck out eight and walked one in six innings, giving him a 2.42 ERA over his last 10 outings. "I know that I wasn't at my best last time, and I was trying to get back on track and keep what I've been doing in my last 10 starts," he told MLB's official website. Teheran, who has fanned 54 and walked just nine in 67 innings during his solid 10-start stretch, escaped a pair of bases-loaded jams against the Giants. "Maturation, that's what it is," manager Fredi ...

ATLANTA -- For Jason Hursh, it was a whirlwind of a day. The Braves' top draft pick out of Oklahoma State flew into Atlanta on Wednesday morning. After his walk-off home run early Tuesday morning, in a game that was rain delayed until eleven o’clock, Atlanta Braves’ first baseman Freddie Freeman said in his interview that he and several teammates would be spending the night at Turner Field. Another "June Swoon" For the Atlanta Braves? Maybe Not

Brothers B.J. and Justin Upton collide in a June 18 game at Turner Field Writers note: Just as I was about to click "publish" on this column, Chris Johnson belts a 3-run homer off of Mets pitcher Shaun Marcum. So, there's that. In a number of recent seasons, the month of June has not been kind to the Atlanta Braves. In fact, since 2004, the Braves have only had a...

Brewers seek eighth straight home win over Braves

Though it's been seven weeks since Tim Hudson last earned a victory, he's often been deserving of a better outcome. The 15-year veteran tries to avoid the longest winless stretch of his career as the Atlanta Braves look to halt a seven-game road losing streak to the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday. Hudson (4-6, 4.17 ERA) has had a rough go of late, compiling an 0-5 record...

Huddy & Meds, being awesome

Huddy on IT yesterday... And Meds throwing seeds at him during the interview reminded me I hadn't posted this yet! That joker took six strides towards second before the pitcher threw the pitch. That's awesome. Finally, let's win in Milwaukee, boys. I would like to hear zero stories about the spooks in the Pfister hotel and see more of this: Freddie Freeman #5 of the...
