Braves Closing In On Kawakami

The Hot Stove Blog is reporting that the Braves and free agent pitcher Kenshin Kawakami are closing in on a deal. Kawakami is expected to be in the United States by Sunday, and is expected to undergo a physical early next week. Kawakami, an eleven year veteran of Japanese baseball, strengthens the middle part of the Braves rotation. If they can sign Lowe, who they have already made an offer to, they will have the pitching needed to compete in the division.
