Found June 11, 2013 on Atlanta Bullpen:
The Atlanta Braves have a seven game lead in the NL East over the Washington Nationals and eight over the Philadelphia Phillies.  There is still a long way to go in the season and a division title cannot be taken for granted. But if the Braves want to make it to the World Series in 2013, they need to keep their eyes on the big picture.  A division title shouldn’t be the prime regular season goal.  The best record in the National League should be this year’s main regular season goal. Having the best record in the National League at season’s end would result in home field advantage through the NLCS, and with the Braves home record currently sitting at 21-7, and road record at 18-18, home field advantage would be crucial in the playoffs. The Braves currently trail the St. Louis Cardinals by two and a half games for the best National League record.  The Cardinals are playing solid baseball and if the Braves are going to outdistance the Redbirds this season for the best record in the Nat...

Kris Medlen does not want to go to the bullpen

Kris Medlen does not want to head to the bullpen when Brandon Beachy comes off the disabled list. Medlen is the only member of the Braves rotation who has experience in the bullpen. Braves shouldn't be so quick to trade a starting pitcher

Can a baseball team ever have enough pitching? The general wisdom says no.  Yet the Atlanta Braves may end up facing a tough decision while attempting to answer that question over the next few weeks.  Right-hander Brandon Beachy is nearly ready to return to the Braves' starting rotation, approximately a year after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
