Theyve been maligned, and deservedly so at times, but Braves relievers have done little wrong of late. The Braves have been playing mix and match with the guys in the bullpen throughout this season, but theyve finally put together a Steady Seven. Im not ready to call them the Spectacular Seven yet, and especially not the overused Magnificent Seven. No, steady does it. But nicknames aside, the guys in the pen have been dominant in the second half, even with one-third of the vaunted OVentbrel trio battling elbow issues. Atlantas bullpen ranks third in the National League with a 3.13 ERA, but Braves relievers have given up only 18 earned runs in the past 94.1 innings good for a 1.72 ERA over that span Theyve been even sharper in the past 15 games, giving up just one earned run. Not coincidentally, the Braves are 11-4 in that span. Heres a look at the seven relievers who have helped assemble this strong streak. Craig Kimbrel Control has been Kimbrels biggest improvement since l...

Braves' Uggla slowly rebounding from slump

Dan Uggla is showing signs of life. He had a two-RBI game on July 30. There was another one on Aug. 4. And then there was his two-hit game on Monday. Uggla, to borrow an unflattering nickname from online commentators, is still Struggla, but he has a pulse. For Braves fans, there is hope that he is emerging from another one of his funks and will add another potent bat for the...

The Phils are still unable to defeat the Braves, as they lose to Atlanta, 6-1.

The Phils still can’t find ways to beat the Braves, as they once again fall to Atlanta, 6-1. The Braves took the lead in the third as, with two men on, and with two men out, Freddie Freeman hits a two-run double, knocking in Michael Bourn, who had earlier walked, then stopped at second base on Martin Prado’s single, and Prado, who had just singled, giving the Braves a 2-0 lead...

Sheets helps Braves remain hot

Ben Sheets pitched into the eighth inning and Jason Heyward homered to lead the streaking Atlanta Braves to a 6-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night. Sheets (4-1) had his longest outing since joining Atlanta's rotation on July 15 after missing all of last season due to Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. He allowed one run on seven hits while walking one...

Gonzalez might turn to a six-pack in rotation

Thursday's day off allowed manager Fredi Gonzalez to give everyone in the Braves' rotation a extra day of rest, always welcome at this time of year. It's especially welcome now, as the Braves begin a streak of 20 games in 20 days. Because of that, there's an outside chance that Gonzalez may go to a six-man rotation for that stretch of games. It depends on right...

Kendrick Struggles, Bullpen Implosion Leads to 12-6 Blowout Loss to Atlanta

The pesky Braves just can't lose, can they? Other than last night's gem of a game from Hamels, the Braves have dominated the Phillies all season. Tonight, they showed great patience at the plate and got Kyle Kendrick to exit the game early, just to tear up the Phils' bullpen. In the rubber match of this series, Phillies fans were caught with their hands shielding their...

The Phils finally end their losing streak with the Braves, as Hamels five-hits Atlanta, leading to a 3-0 win.

Cole Hamels five-hit the Braves as the Phils finally end their losing streak with Atlanta, winning 3-0. The Phils took a quick 1-0 lead in the first as Dom Brown hits an RBI double, knocking in Jimmy Rollins, who had started the inning off with a double.
