Shortstop -- make that infielder-outfielder -- Tyler Pastornicky has been out in the outfield catching batted balls after taking some hacks in the cage before batting practice for the Atlanta Braves. Pastornicky will likely be optioned back to Class AAA Gwinnett once shortstop Jack Wilson comes off the disabled iist; he's eligible to come off on July 29 but first will be playing some rehab games with the G-Braves to test his dislocated right little finger. Wilson has zero offense. He hasn't even been a reliable bunter lately. And he has been uncharacteristically uneven defensively, probably because he has gotten so few starts: 14. When he does start, he appears to be rushing everything, so eager is he to impress manager Fredi Gonzalez and get more playing time. But the Braves want to turn Pastornicky into a utiiity man, and having him play shortstop for the Braves every day would set back that plan. Not to mention that it's already been made clear that shortstop is...

Jonny Venters & Ruben Gotay laughing! Jonny was ready to come off the DL and the team sent him to Gwinnett to have a few rehab innings. He threw six pitches for three outs last night and was in the dugout in DC by this afternoon. Atlanta Braves Players not Impressed by Melky Cabrera's Antics

Atlanta Braves fans weren't exactly the biggest supporters of Melky Cabrera during his stint with the club in 2010, and it seems the San Francisco Giants left fielder didn't make himself anymore friends during the three-game series that concluded Thursday in his first trip back to Atlanta since being released at the end of his only year with the Braves. Cabrera irritated...

Huddy yoga   What kind of crazy person sits in section 105 for a noon start? This girl, and three of her twitterfriends. Jane invited Sarah, Carlie, and I to share her friend's corporate seats and we had a ton of fun! Because the sun was so blazing and there wasn't on-field batting practice, I didn't take as many pics as usual. Here are a few, though... Mike Minor was...
