On paper, it is easy to say that the Baltimore Orioles pulled off a coup in the trade that brought them 1B Chris Davis from Texas. They traded RHP Koji Uehara and also received RHP Tommy Hunter in the July 31, 2011 trade. The fact that Uehara left the Rangers after the 2012 season to sign with the Boston Red Sox as a free agent makes it a clear win for the Orioles. Davis has had a breakout season for the Orioles, hitting .299 and leading the AL with 44 HRs, 112 RBI and 294 total bases. Hunter has also found his niche as a middle reliever, pitching to a 2.89 ERA in 44 games in the Orioles bullpen. Uehara was sent to the Rangers to help their playoff push, as they won the AL West division on their way to their second straight AL Pennant. At the time, Koji had put up very impressive numbers in the Orioles bullpen, which had increased his trade value. In 43 games, he pitched to a 1.72 ERA with 62 Ks in 47 IP.
