The team’s physician, Dr. Chris Ahmad, will preform the procedure and it will likely end Gardner’s season.

In April, the speedy outfielder suffered a bone bruised and an elbow strain on a slide catch. The 28-year-old had multiple setbacks in his recovery and has been on the disabled list since April 18.

Now that we know that Gardner is likely done for the season, the question remains – Can the Yankees Survive Without Gardner?

We were fat, dumb and winning. The last thing anyone pondered was having to suddenly drain our farm system for a Shane Victorino or a Justin Upton, some outfielding...

Kernan Makes The Case For Victorino

From Kevin Kernan:The easy route would be to do nothing and hope the old guys, Raul Ibanez and Andruw Jones, continue to produce loud hits for the Yankees. The Yankees, though, need to make a deal for an outfielder. Send a limo down the New Jersey Turnpike to pick up speedy Shane Victorino from the Phillies. Victorino would put the Yankees that much closer to victory. The Athletics...

I'm not worried that we've lost two in a row

Why would anyone worry about such a thing? You'd be a fool to worry. The Yankees are too far ahead to blow the lead. And we have too many great players. There's no need to worry. None at all. And I'm not worried. Not one bit. I'm not even thinking about the fact that I'm not worried. It's not worth wasting time thinking about. So I'm not. Worried, that...

A's fans enjoy seeing Oakland knock off Yankees, Swisher

OAKLAND -- Former A's outfielder and one-time fan favorite Nick Swisher might not be so beloved in Oakland anymore. Athletics 4, Yankees 3

A.J. Griffin glanced into the visiting dugout and saw Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira among others. Oakland's rookie right-hander felt some nerves all right. Then, Yoenis Cespedes hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give him a quick lead and Griffin shut down one of baseball's best lineups for five innings as the Athletics beat the Yankees 4-3 Thursday...
