Fox Sports Wisconsin:
MILWAUKEE Having registered two of the best seasons at their respective levels for a hitter and pitcher, Double-A Huntsville first baseman Hunter Morris and Triple-A Nashville pitcher Hiram Burgos have been named Brewers Minor League Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year, respectively.
For Morris, the award comes soon after he was honored as the Southern League's MVP, having put together a monstrous season in Huntsville. As the first Huntsville player to win the award since Corey Hart in 2003, Morris batted .303 with 28 home runs and 113 RBI this season.
When all was said and done, Morris -- who was a fourth-round pick of the Brewers in the 2010 MLB Draft -- made a valiant push for the Southern League triple crown, leading the league in home runs, RBI, hits (158), slugging percentage (.563), total bases (294), and extra-base hits (74).
Burgos -- who was drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 MLB Draft -- put together, undoubtedly, one of the best seasons by a Brewers minor league pitcher in recent memory, finishing 10-4 with a 1.95 ERA in 27 starts between Class-A Brevard County, Double-A Huntsville, and Triple-A Nashville. His microscopic ERA was good for 10th-best overall in the minors in 2012.

Brewers shortstop Bianchi a revelation
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke admitted that he didn't know much about shortstop Jeff Bianchi when he came up to the major leagues. After losing Alex Gonzalez for the season, Bianchi was simply another replacement bat in the crowd -- a waiver claim that spent half of the season putting up impressive numbers at Triple-A Nashville -- as the Brewers scrambled to find a suitable shortstop...
Red-hot Brewers lose Ramirez to injury
As a team barely sticking in the conversation for a wild-card berth, the Milwaukee Brewers can't afford to lose anyone at this point in the season. Unfortunately for them, clean-up hitter and third baseman Aramis Ramirez could be out a while.
Ramirez was held out of the lineup against the Marlins on Thursday due to a lower backoblique strain he sustained Wednesday night, and...
Brewers' Peralta shows promise in first start
It's hard to tell what's going to happen when a prospect makes his very first major league start, with all the pressure in the world weighing down on his shoulders. And there's even more pressure when said prospect is the No. 1 pitcher in your organization.
So when Wily Peralta took to the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night against the Marlins, Brewers...
Weeks looks to continue leading Crew's surge
The Milwaukee Brewers are red-hot and they're not planning to go away.
Rickie Weeks is a major reason for that surprising surge.
Weeks will try to continue helping the Brewers creep back into the NL wild-card race by beating the last-place Miami Marlins for the third straight time Thursday in the finale of this four-game set.
Milwaukee (67-69) is on a stunning 13-3 run after...

Braun Finds Power To All Fields
Announcers and hitting coaches love to talk about hitting the ball to all fields, and especially hitting the ball to all fields with power. Not every elite hitter uses such an approach — Jose Bautista uses left field almost exclusively, for example. But Bautista’s way of hitting — pure pull power, with tons of fly balls — has it’s drawbacks; it is a finely tuned system...
Brewers 8, Marlins 4
Norichika Aoki and Jeff Bianchi each homered and drove in three runs for the Milwaukee Brewers in an 8-4 win over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night.
Ryan Braun drove in Milwaukee's other two runs to give him 98 RBIs, which leads the National League. The reigning NL MVP is looking for his fifth straight season with 100 RBIs.

Marlins fan steals ball meant for little girl (Video)
Almost every baseball season, something like this usually plays out where a grown man/woman accidentally steals a ball meant for a little kid.
In this clip from Wednesday's Marlins/Brewers affair, Brewers outfielder Norichika Aoki attempted to throw a ball to a little girl in a "Angry Birds" t-shirt.

Braun for MVP? Numbers say yes; history says ...
MILWAUKEE A passing glance at Ryan Braun's numbers this season reveals a startling fact very few would have believed before 2012 began: Ryan Braun is having a better year than he did in 2011, his NL MVP season.
If you don't believe, take another look. Braun has hit 12 more home runs, tallied seven more RBI and three more extra-base hits, slugged .014 better, and registered...
