The Milwaukee Brewers are hoping to repeat their success of the second half of the 2012 season. They are just hoping to do it throughout the entire 2013 season. The Brewers surged in the second half last year and came close to making the playoffs as one of the National League Wild Cards. They had an incredible offense last season and will look to score runs at a torrid pace again this year.
Here's more on the Brewers and injuries so far in camp:
Ryan Braun has a bruised knee, but the injury was a non-issue. He was able to depart for the World Baseball Classic and does not expect the knee to hinder him in any way. Adam McCalvy of MLB.com says the injury happened when Braun took a foul tip off the knee.
Aramis Ramirez will still have to miss a few days, but the MRI on his knee came back clean. Ramirez injured himself when sliding into second base on Saturday and had to leave the game. Fortunately, the injury is not severe says McCalvy.
Kelvim Escobar is battling a hand issue. He couldn't quite finish his bullpen session yesterday and was taken back to be worked on by trainers. While the club and Escobar didn't go into details, manager Ron Roenicke said he didn't have normal hand strength.
