Though he's yet to really get going, Ryan Braun continues to come up big when the Milwaukee Brewers need him most.
Braun and the Brewers go for an eighth consecutive victory Monday night when they open a three-game set against the slumping San Diego Padres at Petco Park.
While Braun is mired in a 5-for-32 slump, four of those hits have left the yard - including a go-ahead, three-run homer in the fifth inning of Sunday's 4-2 win over the Chicago Cubs.
"I'm not making a lot of contact, but when I do make contact, it counts," Braun, who has 10 RBIs during the winning streak, told MLB's official website. "Lots of homers - meaningful homers. ... It's not even about me, it's about the team. We're winning games."
Despite going deep earlier in the day, Braun's frustrations caught up to him in the eighth, when he struck out looking and was ejected for tossing his bat in the air.
