Brian Bannister Leaves Yomiuri Giants

Pitcher Brian Bannister left the Yomiuri Giants on March 16th after last month's earthquake and tsunami, according to the AP.  Bannister told Japanese baseball officials he has no further plans to pitch in Japan or the U.S. this year. Bannister, 30, elected free agency after being outrighted by the Royals in November following a 6.34 ERA campaign.  As far as I can tell, he did not pitch at all for the Giants.
