If there was news that came out of Atlanta that no one needed or wanted to hear, it is that All-Star Brian McCann had to be removed because of an injury in the 10th inning when he threw to 2nd base to try to catch a stealing Pittsburgh player in Neil Walker.

The injury was to his back. No word yet as to the seriousness or the extent of the injury. Could be a pulled muscle or strained oblique.

This is a blow that the Braves didn’t need. This could also make the Braves step up their pursuit for another bat. More information to come as it is available.
