I’m not going to lie, I enjoy Brian Wilson’s schtick. The dude is at Disneyland in a Buzz Lightyear zip-up yet he’s able to maintain this menacing look that only a closer could possess. Speaking of which; I had no idea where or who Brian Wilson played for.. I researched it and the answer was no one. FYI – Free-agent reliever Brian Wilson is unlikely to sign with a new team before the 2013 season opens, according to a source in a report by Scott Miller of former Giants closer is said to be at about “80 to 85 percent” in bullpen sessions while rehabbing from a second Tommy John ligament transfer surgery. Wilson does not want to audition for clubs until he is 100 percent, according to a source with knowledge of pitcher’s situation. [Continue Reading] In the meantime, he’s just chillen at Disneyland in Buzz Lightyear gear. Check it out…

SF Giants Rumors: Tim Lincecum, Chad Gaudin, Brett Pill

Credit: Steven Robles – SF Giants Rumors Today is the day that Tim Lincecum was scheduled to return to the mound from his blister injury. He wasn’t ready to go, but did manage to get a bullpen session in. To me that’s still putting in work, so I’m good with that! Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News says (via Twitter) Lincecum’s bullpen session went well, and he’s...

Barry Bonds is a man of the people. Not only has the former slugger taken up cycling in retirement, but he’s also giving back to the community. Tim Lincecum scratched from another spring start

Tim Lincecum has been scratched from his scheduled start today. It will be the second consecutive spring start that the 28-year-old has missed. Lincecum has been dealing with a blister on his pitching hand but should be ready to go in a couple of days. In his first spring start Lincecum struggled allowing three runs and four hits in 1 1/3 innings. The Giants will hope for better...

“Pretty Much Retired” Huff Stuff

It sounds like the Yankees have one more name to take off of the list of potential Mark Teixeira replacements. Aubrey Huff is saying he is “pretty much retired.” Although earlier in the off-season he sounded like he still wanted to play, not surprisingly, there was not much interest in a 36-year-old first baseman coming off of a 87 wRC+ in 2011 and a 76 wRC+ in 2012. That should...

It Doesn’t Matter…Does It?

So, Sergio Romo blew the save and Mexico lost a shocker to Italy. Well, he kinda blew it.  Here’s the play. … Well, it was blown even without the drop.  Deep fly ball to left with a man on third and one out, the game would’ve been tied. Yeah, but that’s tied, not lost.  I mean, come on, the left fielder should’ve had that ball! Yeah, but Romo shouldn’t have given up...

Friday 5: Omar Gutierrez

Earlier this week, an interesting tweet popped up on Twitter. And like that…the internet was abuzz (pun intended) with talk and pictures of Brian Wilson and Dallas Braden and their National Lampoon-like vacation.  As it would turn out, Omar Gutierrez, the guy who happened upon the unemployed pitchers, had no problem picking the two out of a crowd as he and his sons are...
