CINCINNATI (AP) -- Jay Bruce's fourth home run in four games lifted the Cincinnati Reds to a 6-5 comeback win over the Houston Astros on Sunday. Bruce hit reliever Fernando Rodriguez's (0-3) first pitch 381 feet into the right field seats for his seventh homer of the season. Bruce has hit home runs in a career-high four consecutive games, one short of tying Cincinnati's club record. Logan Ondrusek (1-0) pitched a perfect eighth to get the win. Sean Marshall earned his fifth save in six tries. Houston starter Jordan Lyles was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City before the game. He lasted six innings, allowing four hits and three runs with three walks and four strikeouts. The 10 hits allowed by Reds starter Mat Latos matched the career high he set last June 21 at Boston while with San Diego. Latos allowed no walks and struck out four while giving up five runs in 6 1-3 innings. Houston's Jordan Schafer singled in the second to extend to his streak of consecutive g...

“I’ve been workin’ all night, man What’s a young kid gotta do to blow up

Jay Bruce hit his 7th home run of the season yesterday, a game-winning drive to the seats in right center. The home run was his fourth in four games. He’s the first Red to do that since Adam Dunn in 2008. The Reds come from behind to beat Houston 6-5, winning the must-have series and heading into a Monday day-off. I found a great read after the game yesterday while listening to...

This really happened, folks (Video)

It's hard enough to grab a home run ball, the odd's are stacked against you from the get-go. But try doing it while holding the precious cargo known as your daughter. That's exactly what this Reds fanatic attempted to do last Thursday when Jay Bruce deposited this ball over the outfield wall. Not only did he fail to secure the catch (he held onto...

[Box Score] [Cincinnati.com] [Better Off Red] [Mark Sheldon] Couple of random take home points about yesterday’s game, which was one of my favorite Reds games I’ve been to: It was the best game that Jay Bruce has had that I’ve been to, if you’re not counting his MLB debut. The home run was a bomb. The defensive double-play assist. The double down the line. Four RBI’s...
