Pitcher Mark Buehrle and right fielder Giancarlo Stanton posted impressive milestones Friday night in Miami's 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Buehrle helped Miami snap a seven-game losing streak by tossed eight strong innings, which clinched a 12th straight season of at least 200 innings. Buehrle is the only active pitcher in baseball with 12 consecutive years of at least 10 wins (13), 30 starts (31) and 200 innings (202 2/3). The last pitcher to do that was Greg Maddux on his way to a 14-year streak from 1988-2001. "I've always said 200 innings and going deep in the game you're giving your team a chance to win," Buehrle said. Stanton returned to the starting lineup for the first time since Sept. 16 and connected off Cliff Lee for his 35th home run, the second-highest season total in Marlins history (Gary Sheffield, 42). "It looked like a script: All of a sudden this kid comes out and hits a double and a home run," manager Ozzie Guillen said. The Marlins won the game in the bottom of the ninth when Bryan Petersen scored from second base on Carlos Lee's single to left. After the game, Guillen focused his praise on Buehrle, who's finishing up his first season in the National League after pitching 2000-11 with the Chicago White Sox in the American League. "The American League is a little bit easier to throw 200 innings because you don't have to pinch hit and replace pitchers early in the game, but he did it," said Guillen, who managed Buehrle with the Sox from 2004 to 2011. "I'm very lucky and blessed to manage this kid for that many years. He makes me look good every five days."
