The New York Yankees signed Brian McCann and Jacoby Ellsbury this offseason, for a combined $238 mil. With that money they could have potentially signed both Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson. Instead, the Yankees upgrade their catcher, replace Granderson with Ellsbury and now have a huge hole to fill at 2b. If it was my money, I would want the best player and that guy is Cano. However, 2B should be a position that is easier to fill than the catchers spot, so this could work nicely for the Bronx Bombers, if they can land an Omar Infante or acquire Brandon Phillips. Robinson Cano will be joining Kyle Seager, Mike Zunino, Justin Smoak, Dustin Ackley and Brad Miller in Seattle's lineup. With Cano in the batters box when Seager digs into the batters box, the Mariners third basemans fantasy value has increased. The corner outfield positions are still very weak but guys like Carlos Beltran, Shin-Shoo Choo and Nelson Cruz may now reconsider joining the Mariners who still have cash to spend.  Cano will take a hit in fantasy value, but will still battle Dustin Pedroia and Matt Carpenter for the top spot.Curtis Granderson gives the New York Mets a much needed power bat, and protection for David Wright. That is of course if and only if Granderson is hitting cleanup for the Mets. Granderson has batted 2nd for most of his career, but Daniel Murphy is the Mets #2 hitter and has little value elsewhere in the lineup. Granderson should see his average jump back up to the .250-.260 range but his HR total could be in the 20's somewhere. The Grandyman will also have a very tough time producing 100 RBI as David Wright is the only Met to do so since 2010. So while Granderson will still be a valuable fantasy player, he will be less valuable than when he wore pinstripes.
