Took this on opening day - haha, Kimmie's bag
If you're as amused by pitcher hijinks as I am, you'll like this blip on MLB.com: Kimbrel turns over 'goody bag' to Gearrin
In a tradition that dates back more than five years, the least-tenured Braves reliever has been responsible for carrying a bag filled with candy, food and sports drinks to the bullpen before every game. The bags have featured My Little Pony, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus in the past.
But knowing what responsibility awaited him this year, Kimbrel took action and found a camouflage roller suitcase to use.
"He spent a lot of time on the Internet looking for the right bag," Gearrin said.
The part that cracks me up is that, in sp...

A wonderful play by Dan Uggla, but it’s far from the best part. After catching the ball, Uggla proceeds to drive his right knee into Tyler Pastornicky‘s gut and right shin into his groin, then completes a rolling judo throw by using his right hand to grab Pastronicky’s left shoulder and send him flying. Note
Braves All-Star catcher Brian McCann is not starting against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday night but is available for emergency duty one day after straining a muscle in his right side.
McCann said his side feels ''a lot better than I thought'' when he left Friday night's game in the fifth inning. He says he hopes to start Monday.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Chipper Jones left Dodger Stadium for perhaps the last time with some more fond memories.
One night after homering on his 40th birthday, Jones singled home the go-ahead run in his final regular season at-bat at Chavez Ravine after Dan Uggla tied it with his second RBI single earlier in the ninth inning, and the Atlanta Braves defeated Los Angeles 4-2 Wednesday...

The Pirates return to the scene of the crime last year for another four game series at Atlanta. Fun.

The Pirates open a four-game series in Atlanta on Friday night. Right-hander A.J. Burnett will be on the hill for the Bucs. The Braves will start right-hander Tommy Hanson.
The Atlanta Braves' offense is back in gear following the team's worst start in 24 years.
The Pittsburgh Pirates' pitching staff could change that.
Atlanta looks to match the best seven-game start in Turner Field's 15-year history Friday night when these clubs begin a four-game series.
Since batting .165 with 10 runs during an 0-4 start - the club's worst since...

Having dominated the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Braves arrived in Los Angeles ready to face the team leading the National League in wins. They got off to a rough start behind now demoted Jair Jurrjens, but they salvaged two games of the series with the help of now 40-year-old third baseman Chipper Jones and continued pitching brilliance from Mike Minor and Brandon Beachy...
