DAYTON, OH- The Lake County Captains (22-24, 45-68) used a three-run seventh inning to take the middle game of a three-game series with the Dayton Dragons (25-22, 53-63) on Thursday night. A big inning late in the game has been the key so far in the series. The Captains sent Felix Sterling to the mound for his second start and 37th appearance of the season. The Dragons countered with southpaw Ishmael Guillon for the start. The start of the game was delayed for 43 minutes due to inclement weather before the game. Second baseman Sammy Diaz opened the home half of the first with his third home run of the year to give the Dragons an early 1-0 lead. Dayton plated one more run in the fourth inning. Wednesday night’s hero and left fielder Jesse Winker hit a one-out double to left field. First baseman Seth Mejias-Brean followed with a single to move Winker to third.
